CMDB Remediation

A closed change is not proof that the CMDB is fixed.

CMDBx turns recurring CMDB problems into owned findings. Teams fix simple fields directly with readback, or route larger corrections through an approved ServiceNow change request. A finding closes only when CMDBx checks the CI again and the problem is gone.

Assign owners, support contacts, and operational status directly from the issue.

Approve exact corrections before a ServiceNow change request is created.

Confirm that each fix held after the next sync.

Why teams use it

Evidence that can survive operational review.

Every direct write is checked against the last synced value and read back.

Approvals are tied to an exact preview of the ServiceNow changes.

A later complete sync re-runs the original rule before a finding closes.

FAQ

What is CMDB remediation?

CMDB remediation is the process of correcting missing, stale, invalid, duplicate, or weakly modeled CMDB data so operational workflows can trust it.

How does CMDBx know a fix worked?

A closed change request only proves that the workflow finished. CMDBx waits for a later complete sync, re-runs the exact rule that found the problem, and closes the finding only if the problem is gone. If the problem returns, the finding reopens.
