AI Providers

cmdbx supports multiple AI providers:

  • Anthropic (Claude) - Default, best for complex reasoning
  • Google (Gemini) - Good for data analysis
  • OpenAI (GPT-4) - General purpose

Configured per tenant in Settings > AI Analysis.

Usage Limits

AI usage is tracked and limited by tier:

  • Professional: Included for smaller teams getting started
  • Business: Expanded monthly usage for day-to-day operational analysis
  • Enterprise: Sized for heavier organizational usage
  • MSP: Scoped commercially for multi-customer operating models

Privacy & Security

  • Queries are tenant-isolated
  • Data is not shared between tenants
  • CMDB data not used to train AI models
  • Conversations can be deleted

Best Practices

  • Be specific - Include CI names, classes, environments

  • Ask follow-ups - Refine answers with additional questions

  • Use for discovery - Find patterns you didn't know existed

  • Verify results - AI is helpful but double-check critical decisions

  • Do not rely solely on AI - Use as a guide, not gospel

  • Do not share sensitive data - Avoid PII or credentials in questions
