Overview

The Health Dashboard is your command center for monitoring CMDB data quality. It provides real-time insights into health scores, trends, and actionable issues.

Dashboard Components

Overall Health Score

The large number at the top shows your CMDB's overall health (0-100):

| Score | Status | Meaning | |-------|--------|---------| | 90-100 | Excellent | World-class data quality | | 75-89 | Good | Above average, minor improvements recommended | | 50-74 | Fair | Room for improvement | | 25-49 | Poor | Requires attention | | 0-24 | Critical | Immediate action needed |

KPI Cards

Four key metrics displayed as cards:

1. Total CIs

  • Total number of Configuration Items synced from ServiceNow
  • Click to view all CIs in CI Health Workspace

2. Total Relationships

  • Number of relationships between CIs
  • Healthy CMDBs have 2-4 relationships per CI on average

3. Stale CIs

  • CIs not updated in 90+ days
  • May have outdated information
  • Click to see list of stale CIs

4. Orphan CIs

  • CIs with no relationships to other CIs
  • Often indicates missing data
  • Click to see list of orphans

Click any KPI card to filter the CI Health Workspace to show only those CIs. This is the fastest way to start fixing issues.

Health Status Distribution

Bar chart or cards showing count of CIs in each health category:

  • Excellent (green)
  • Good (blue)
  • Fair (yellow)
  • Poor (orange)
  • Critical (red)

Health Trend Chart

12-week line chart showing:

  • Historical health scores
  • Trend direction (improving vs declining)
  • Impact of improvement efforts

Use this to:

  • Track progress over time
  • Demonstrate ROI to leadership
  • Identify when health degraded

Top Issues

List of most common problems across your CMDB:

  • Missing Owners (234 CIs)
  • Stale Data (189 CIs)
  • Invalid Relationships (67 CIs)
  • Missing IP Addresses (45 CIs)

Sorted by:

  • Count - Number of CIs affected
  • Impact - Business criticality
  • Severity - Health score impact

Issues are recalculated daily during sync. Manually trigger recalculation in CI Health Workspace.

Using the Dashboard

Daily Workflow

  1. Check overall health score - Is it improving or declining?
  2. Review top issues - What's the highest priority?
  3. Click issue to see affected CIs - Opens CI Health Workspace with filter
  4. Use AI Remediation - Generate bulk fix plan
  5. Track progress - Return tomorrow to see improvement

Weekly Workflow

  1. Review health trend - Are efforts paying off?
  2. Focus on one category - Pick Critical or Poor CIs
  3. Bulk remediation - Use AI to generate improvement plans
  4. Update ServiceNow - Make fixes in source system
  5. Trigger sync - Refresh cmdbx data

Monthly Workflow

  1. Executive reporting - Export health trend chart
  2. Strategic planning - Prioritize next month's focus area
  3. Stakeholder communication - Share progress with leadership

Top-right dropdown to switch between:

  • Production
  • Staging
  • Development
  • All Environments

Time Range

Change the health trend time range:

  • Last 4 weeks
  • Last 12 weeks (default)
  • Last 6 months
  • Last year

Refresh

  • Auto-refresh: Every 5 minutes
  • Manual refresh: Click refresh icon
  • Last updated: Timestamp shown in top-right

Exporting Data

Click the export button to download:

  • CSV: Health scores and KPIs
  • PDF: Dashboard summary report
  • PNG: Health trend chart image

Use exports for:

  • Executive presentations
  • Monthly reports
  • Compliance documentation
